Todd Chrisley Reveals the Financial Sacrifice Savannah Made for Her Family During His and Julie’s Incarceration

Todd Chrisley says he’s grateful for daughter Savannah Chrisley’s sacrifices.

During the Tuesday, June 16, episode of the Hang Out with Sean Hannity podcast, Todd and Julie Chrisley opened up about their time in prison and how Savannah, 29, supported them throughout their incarceration.

“She’s a rock star,” Julie, 53, said of their daughter, before explaining that Savannah would bring her younger brother Grayson, 20, and niece Chloe, 13, to visit Julie and Todd in prison.

“She didn’t have their mom and dad there every day, but they continued in their school,” she added. “They continued in their sports, in their therapy. She took them on vacation for them cause the community was good.”

Todd, 57, explained that they granted Savannah power of attorney to handle “everything we had.” Despite having access to their finances, Savannah paid out of pocket for her siblings’ needs.

“She never used one dollar of our money to take care of her siblings,” Todd revealed. “We didn’t realize that until it was all turned back over to us that she had never done anything like that. She had taken care of it herself.”

Expressing his gratitude for his daughter, Todd described her as the “kindest, most decent, honorable human being in the world.”

“When people comment about her beauty, I laugh because they don’t even know because she’s far prettier on the inside than she is on the outside,” he said.

In 2022, the couple — known for their USA Network reality show Chrisley Knows Best — were found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion in a federal court in Georgia. Julie was also convicted of wire fraud. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison, while Julie was sentenced to seven years.

The reality stars began their prison sentences on Jan. 17, 2023. However, they were released on May 28, 2025, after President Donald Trump granted them full pardons. In a June 2025 interview with Lara Trump for My View with Lara Trump, Todd said the pardon wouldn’t have happened without Savannah’s efforts.

Savannah had been very outspoken amid the pair’s appeal process and even delivered a speech at the 2024 Republican National Convention in support of Trump, 80. She was named a Senior Fellow for the Nolan Center for Criminal Justice for the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) for her pursuit of prison reform.

“Savannah, our daughter, had literally worked so hard to make sure that she was in every room that she could be in to make sure she put it out there to find out who she needed to go to for help,” Todd said. “And God blessed her because the doors kept opening.”

Todd gave an update on how the Chrisley family is doing, a year after their release.

“I think that we’re as good as we can be at this phase of our life,” Todd explained. “I don’t think you can come out of this and say you’re not damaged. I think that I’m damaged.”

“It was a horrible time of our life, but we survived it,” he continued. “Look at all the families that don’t survive it.”
