Days of our lives HORRIFYING TRAGEDY! Chanel Screams in Labor, Paulina & Lani Devastated!

Welcome back, everyone! Honestly, I’m still reeling from the latest Days of Our Lives summer promo. The drama surrounding Chanel and Johnny right now is just overwhelming.

DOOL Spoilers: Johnny And Chanel's Adoption Plans Fall Through - Soap Opera Spy

The week starts with a rare, sweet moment. Paulina is hanging out with Chanel, feeling the baby kick while playing with little Trey. But on a soap opera, these quiet family moments only mean one thing: disaster is right around the corner. Chanel has been trying so hard to stay positive through her breast cancer diagnosis, but a heavy sense of dread hangs over every scene.

Meanwhile, Paulina is in an agonizing spot. She and Marlena are leaning on each other—Marlena is dealing with her grief over John and DiMera madness, while Paulina is watching Abe fall apart over Lexi, who is dying a second time after Dr. Ralph’s miracle drug failed.

Then, everything escalates. Out of nowhere, Chanel starts experiencing severe pains and tells Johnny she thinks she’s in labor. It is way too early. Carson Boatman acts his heart out here; you can see pure terror in Johnny’s eyes. Chanel’s worst fears are coming true—entering premature labor while battling cancer.

At the hospital, the tension is suffocating. Johnny blurts out that Chanel is bleeding, his voice cracking with panic. Kayla gets her serious doctor look and immediately orders everyone out of the room so the medical team can work. It’s devastating to see Paulina and a returned Lani get pushed out. Paulina is desperate—she even considered EJ’s untested Versavix drug over radiation—but here, she is completely powerless.

The moment that completely shattered fans is when Chanel looks up from her hospital bed, bleeding and in labor, and whispers, “I’m scared.” Raven Bowens delivers that line with such raw vulnerability. Chanel is usually the strong boss, but right now, she’s just a terrified young mother. Johnny holds her hand, looking ready to break into a million pieces.

Why do the writers always torture pregnant women in Salem? It feels exhausting, yet combining cancer with pregnancy complications makes this storyline deeply grounded and heavy—a far cry from the usual mind-control plots. Having Lani back is crucial; her calm energy grounds Paulina, though even Lani looks rattled as an officer trying to process her sister’s medical crisis.

What’s next? If the baby is delivered prematurely via emergency C-section, the newborn will fight for life in the NICU while Chanel faces aggressive cancer treatment after traumatic birth. Johnny, who quit his CEO job to support her, will be stretched to his absolute limit.

I just hope the writers don’t kill off this baby. Johnny and Chanel have been through enough. Having her go into early labor is peak sweeps material, but there needs to be hope. Seeing Chanel so small and helpless in that bed is going to stick with me. Will Kayla stop the bleeding? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
