Johnny and Chanel Talk Baby Names, but One Is Off the Table
Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) decided not to find out whether their unborn baby is a boy or a girl, so they’ve had to make lists of names for both. The only thing they are sure about is that ‘Elvis’ will not be in the mix. So what might they end up calling their little bundle of joy?
Johnny and Chanel Could Find the Perfect Name Close to Home
If it’s a boy, Trey is already “John the Third,” so they’ll have to look elsewhere. Chanel’s late father was George. That would be the obvious choice. There’s also Johnny’s mom, Sami (Alison Sweeney), whose name naturally lends to Sam. The recently deceased Doug (Bill Hayes) was a beloved member of the community, though he wasn’t that closely connected to the DiMera/Price clan.
The Signs Could Be Pointing to This Name for Johnny and Chanel’s Baby
But it’s still silly to be considering boys’ names when, according to soap law, Chanel and Johnny will have a girl. There is his grandmother, Susan (Stacy Haiduk), to honor, or, once again, Johnny’s mom, Samantha, or “Saaaaa—maaaan—thaaa” the way EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) pronounces it.
Chanel already gave Trey the middle name Paul, after Paulina (Jackée Harry), but she could go with Georgia for her dad. On the other hand, we suspect Baby Girl DiMera will be named after her aunt Lexie (Nikki Crawford). Especially if Lexie’s death overlaps with Chanel’s birth complications, and the life of one will be used to save the other.
Alexandra DiMera, it is! Though a nickname will be tricky. There is already an Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and a Xander (Paul Telfer) on the canvas, and Johnny’s twin goes by Allie — short for Alice. We may have another Lexie!
