DOOL September Comings: Massive Shock With 7 Earth-Shattering Returns for First Week of September!
Welcome back to the channel, everyone! It’s a beautiful Tuesday afternoon, and I’m running on far too much coffee and way too little sleep. But we urgently need to dive into Days of Our Lives because the arrivals and departures for the week of August 31 to September 4 are absolutely stacked, and my brain is already spinning trying to keep up.

Honestly, I’m so overwhelmed by everything happening in Salem right now—it feels like the writers are throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks—but I’m completely here for it. Let’s jump straight into the casting news because there is a ton to unpack.
First up, the massive, incredible news: Suzanne Rogers is finally returning as Maggie Horton Kiriakis on Monday, August 31! I literally cheered when I saw this. Suzanne has been off-screen for months dealing with a health issue, and the show just hasn’t been the same without her. Maggie is the heart and matriarch of Salem. But think about what she’s walking back into—an absolute nightmare! While she was gone, Philip gambled away the entire Kiriakis fortune, and Xander is putting the mansion up for sale. Victor’s legacy, sold! Can you imagine Maggie’s face when she finds out she’s practically homeless because Philip lost a $200 million poker game in Monte Carlo? Maggie is going to lose her mind, and I can’t wait to see her rip into everyone.
Before Maggie even steps foot in Salem, the show dropped a bomb on Instagram announcing that daytime alum Britney Sarpy is joining the cast in an undisclosed role. Why keep it a secret? Is she a new doctor at the hospital, tied to the Corsa drug mess, or connected to Devlin Saint John? If they bring her in just to break up a fan-favorite couple, social media will riot!
Then on Tuesday, September 1, Sal Stowers returns as Lani Price Grant. Thank goodness, because Abe Carver desperately needs his daughter. Lexi just died again after Dr. Rolf’s serum wore off, leaving Abe shattered. Lani’s return to reassure her dad will be a total tearjerker, though I hope the writers don’t torture her too much given her own past trauma.
Tuesday also introduces a new face: Brandon Butler debuts as Salem newcomer Mason Whitfield. (Fun fact: Brandon previously played adult spirit Zack Brady back in June 2025!) When Holly introduces Mason to Julie, the moment he hears Holly’s name, he gets furious. Is he connected to Sophia Choi? Kristen DiMera actually murdered Sophia, but the town still blames Holly for cyberbullying. Holly will be terrified and will run straight to Tate Black, who’s bound to go into full protective-boyfriend mode.
By Wednesday, September 2, we get some lighter moments. Little Victoria Kiriakis (Angelica Nero) reveals a hidden talent, and Xander takes her to the father-daughter dance. Sarah will undoubtedly be watching them, her heart breaking because she secretly wants her family back instead of parading around with Brady.
The dance continues Thursday, September 3, with Chad and Charlotte (Pippa Blaylock). Chad desperately needs a sweet dad moment while dealing with EJ spiraling and Cat Green’s ISA cover blowing up. However, Thursday also brings Rachel Black (Lorelai Olivia Mote), who receives a special gift from her mother, Kristen. Keep in mind, Kristen is currently posing as Susan Banks after kidnapping her! Is Kristen using this gift to poison Rachel’s mind against EJ?
Finally, on Friday, September 4, EJ’s assistant Rita (Maggie Carney) actually disobeys his orders. EJ’s empire is crumbling around him, and if even Rita is turning on him, his downfall is imminent.
This week is going to be chaotic, messy, and emotional! What are your theories? Are you excited for Maggie’s return, and who do you think Britney is playing? Let me know in the comments!
