Days of our lives: GYM AFFAIR EXPOSED! Tate Falls For Gwen, Dumps Holly?
Welcome back to the channel, Salem Fanatics! Are the writers actually preparing to pair up Tate Black and Gwen Rizczech? I’ve been watching Days of Our Lives since 2015, and this potential pairing is easily one of the craziest, most scandalous train wrecks the show has set up in years. What started as innocent personal training sessions at the gym exploded during the August 18 episode, leaving viewers completely stunned by the sheer level of undeniable chemistry between them.

When Gwen finally returned to Salem following her terrifying hostage ordeal in Allemannia with Dimitri, Tate didn’t react like a concerned trainer—he acted like a terrified boyfriend. The moment she walked into the gym, he sprinted across the room to embrace her. The heavy flirting, playful banter about missed appointment fees, and lingering glances made the underlying romantic tension impossible to ignore. Even Holly Jonas, who was lurking nearby, picked up on the sparks. Though Tate reassured Holly that he only had eyes for her, his eyes were clearly elsewhere just moments prior.
This lingering temptation comes at a terrible time for Tate and Holly. The young couple just survived a brutal stretch of drama, including the fallout from Amy Choi’s manslaughter lawsuit and EJ DiMera’s sinister plot to plant arsenic-laced coral pills in Holly’s bag. Their relationship was completely shattered before Aaron and Ari managed to help piece them back together. They are on fragile ground, making Tate’s distraction all the more dangerous.
Yet, Tate’s attraction to Gwen makes psychological sense. After being dragged through endless teenage drama, wrongly accused, and stuck in a halfway house, Tate is exhausted. Gwen represents an older, experienced, and resilient woman who treats him like an equal rather than a dramatic high school boy. Meanwhile, Gwen has spent her entire life begging for affection—from her father Jack, to Xander, to her fake marriage with Dimitri. To an emotionally starved woman like Gwen, Tate’s fierce concern and undivided attention act like an intoxicating drug.
Soap history shows us that the writers love a messy, scandalous age-gap romance—much like the chaotic affair between Eve Donovan and JJ Deveraux years ago. A similar disaster seems primed to detonate here. Whether Holly catches them in a compromised position at the gym or a heated argument drives a defensive Tate straight into Gwen’s arms, the inevitable fallout will send shockwaves through the Black, Kiriakis, Deveraux, and Jonas families. Brady Black will lose his mind if he discovers his son messing around with Gwen, while Jack Deveraux will be deeply disappointed in his daughter’s choices.
Tate and Gwen are a disaster waiting to happen, and Holly is bound to end up heartbroken once again. It is the ultimate soap opera dilemma: you want the characters to make healthy choices, yet the life-ruining chaos makes for undeniably thrilling television.
