Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers for Monday, August 31, reveal that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) will face another frustrating setback.

Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) will also catch Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) off guard with a proposal.

Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) will come through for Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) elsewhere, so there’ll be a lot happening in Salem.

First on Monday’s DOOL episode, Marlena will rescue Xander from a difficult situation.

Xander’s anger issues may creep back in and leave him struggling, so maybe Marlena will offer up some tips to keep him on track.

Over with Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord), Days spoilers say she’ll make an admission during a conversation with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering).

Now that Cat’s had another hypnosis session, she knows she told comatose EJ about her ISA ties.

Cat may open up to Rafe about her concerns regarding what EJ remembers and how complicated this mission has become.

As for EJ, Days spoilers say he’ll have a proposition for Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) to consider.

This may be EJ’s attempt to sabotage Gwen’s purchase of the hospital, but it’s not going to work.

Gwen will turn down whatever offer EJ’s about to make, so he’ll end up fuming over another one of his plans failing.

It’s clear that EJ has lost his touch lately when it comes to schemes that actually pay off!

Other Days spoilers say Philip will stun Gabi when he proposes, so he may present her with an engagement ring and properly ask her to be his fake fiancée.

Gabi is indeed going to pose as Philip’s bride-to-be since she’s headed to the Monte Carlo poker game with him.

Of course, there’s a chance this faux proposal could become a real one if this trip ends in a massive win.

We could imagine Philip asking Gabi to legitimately marry him once they’re potentially celebrating a $200-million victory.

In the meantime, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) will check on Javi Hernandez (Jacob Martinez), who’s been dealing with Gus’ (Michael Ocampo) decision to move out.

Javi still loves Leo deep down, so it’s just a matter of him admitting that and accepting the man he truly wants.
