Christie Clark (Carrie Brady Reed), Bryan Dattilo (Lucas Horton), Chandler Massey (Will Horton) and Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) were back filming last week at the show’s Burbank studios.

“It was so good to be with everyone together again,” Sweeney tells TV Insider exclusively. “I was a bit nervous to jump into a pretty big story. It was a lot of dialogue and emotion, but with all the best actors to work opposite, we fell into it as if no time had passed. It was really wonderful.”

The quartet has been off the canvas this year. Clark was seen last June during the funeral episodes honoring John Black (Drake Hogestyn). Sweeney appeared in November 2025, when Sami returned to town and revealed she was engaged to Ava Vitali’s cousin, Dante Vitali.

Massey also made his most recent appearance in November 2025 for the hospital gala honoring Will’s great-grandfather Tom Horton. Dattilo also returned for the gala before making another visit during the holiday season.

Before filming began, Clark and Sweeney learned they’d be sharing another story. “We actually had a Zoom call about coming back with the producers, and it was so crazy,” Sweeney recalls. “It felt so amazing to think we were going to get to work together again because it didn’t happen the last time [in 2025]. So, it was fun looking forward to getting to work [together] again.”

For Clark, who lives in England, returning to Los Angeles to film at the show where she first began working at age 12 is always an easy decision. “Well, I just always get very excited because I’m a full-time mom, which any mom knows is the hardest job known to man, really,” she explains. “And so, when I get the call to say, ‘Will you come pretend and play with your favorite people on earth and get hair and makeup and wardrobe and fly to L.A. and have some time to yourself,’ I’m in.”

Having played on-screen sisters since 1993, Clark and Sweeney slipped right back into Carrie and Sami’s relationship. “It was like riding a bike,” reports Clark. “It’s so easy. I look in [her] eyes, and I’m instantly transported.”

Her longtime scene partner feels the same way. “It’s funny, because it’s still a live relationship now, but also, the memories of everything we’ve been through together is still right there beneath the surface,” Sweeney observes. “So, it really does feel like we’re sisters.

It’s so fun, and she’s such a good actor that she makes everything so natural that you can really disappear into those stories.”

Even so, jumping back into the fast pace of daytime television can be intimidating. “It’s scary because we haven’t been using this muscle memory as much,” notes Clark. “It definitely makes you nervous coming back in and thinking, ‘God, can I still do this?’ And then you get there, the red light comes on, and it just falls into place. It’s pretty cool.”

The material awaiting them made the challenge worthwhile. “I think it’s going to be very satisfying to see us in scenes together,” says Sweeney.

“I felt like when I read it, it was a page-turner. I was very excited. There’s a lot of history here, and a lot of things that haven’t been said. So, it’s really not like, ‘Oh, rehashing stuff.’ And now having played some of the scenes, I’m psyched.”

Both actresses relished the opportunity to tackle emotionally rich material. “I love that we get real stuff to do, even though it is stressful,” adds Sweeney.

“It’s so satisfying to have real, weighty, important scenes that will matter to people. Even if I’m not here anymore, they’ll still be talking about it. And I think it’s fun to drive story in that way. It’s fun to give the characters that are here a jumping-off point for whatever they have to deal with later as it goes on, and that’s exciting.”

The reunion wasn’t limited to the Brady sisters, as Clark and Sweeney also enjoyed sharing scenes with Massey and Dattilo. “Of course, working with Bryan and Chandler is always so special to me,” enthuses Sweeney.

“I made one small reference to an old joke about eating too many props in my first scene with Bry, and he laughed right away, like no time has passed. And Chandler has always felt like Will to me. I reminded him of his first day [in 2010] and how he was really good in our first scene together, a natural actor. But he laughed and said it was such a blur to him — he blacked out for, like, the first three days.”

For Clark and Sweeney, returning to Salem is also a reminder of the show’s remarkable legacy — and their place within it.

“Being a part of Days of Our Lives is like being a part of television history,” concludes Sweeney. “I mean, it’s so cool to know we’re a part of the show that has touched so many lives.

It just feels important. I mean, 60 years — it’s been on the air 61 now —that’s incredible. That hourglass, that McDonald Carey [Tom Horton] opening line … we’re a part of that history.”
