Because Curtis has been dragging her through the mud with a completely avoidable legal mess. Driven by toxic masculinity and jealousy, Curtis punched Isaiah Gannon, resulting in a massive civil suit.
Tonight, the dam finally broke. The scene opens with Portia alone in a shadowy, isolated house. Suddenly, a severe, stress-induced contraction hits. The sheer terror and physical agony in her eyes were bone-chilling. Desperate, she reaches for her lifeline—her husband. She calls Curtis over and over, but it goes straight to voicemail.
So, where was Curtis when his wife was fighting for their unborn child? He was off playing mobster spy games, secretly meeting with fugitive Valentin Cassadine to thank him for saving Jordan and to ask for an illegal favor to beat Isaiah’s lawsuit. Curtis prioritized his own ego, pride, and legal drama over keeping his phone on for his high-risk wife. He chose himself over his family, and I am officially done defending him.

Realizing she is utterly alone and that an ambulance would take too long, a panicked Portia makes the desperate decision to drive herself to General Hospital. The cinematography here felt like a horror movie—claustrophobic close-ups, heavy breathing, and blurry streetlights. Suddenly, another massive contraction hits, causing her vision to go white. With a heartbreaking scream, her hands slip, and the car violently veers into an embankment before everything goes black.
The transition to the glaring lights of General Hospital was jarring. Portia wakes up disoriented and immediately clutches her stomach. Before the doctor even speaks, that sympathetic, pitying look says it all. The trauma and stress were too much: Portia suffered a miscarriage on the side of the road. Her subsequent, suffocating silence—watching the light physically leave her eyes—was painfully authentic.
The Turning Point In a chilling instant, Portia’s sorrow mutates into cold, hard realization. She remembers the unanswered phone calls. She connects the dots with crystal clarity: Curtis’s violent outburst and obsession with his lawsuit directly caused the stress and isolation that killed their child.
