SHOCKING NEWS: Brennan officially says goodbye to General Hospital: final footage revealed.
Sometimes when you hear a rumor, your first reaction is, “Yeah, saw that coming.” But on other occasions, you find yourself not only shocked, but hoping it’s just the internet being the internet and that there’s no substance to the tale making the rounds. While reports that Chris McKenna’s Brennan soon will be exiting General Hospital caught us completely off guard (and have so far not been confirmed by the actor or soap), it’s beginning to look as if Nina’s latest lover will, in fact, meet his maker in the not-too-distant future!
The news was first reported by Soap Opera Network, which claimed that the character will be killed off as part of an upcoming storyline. While no details were offered as to exactly when the dramatic twist might unfold, rumblings indicate that Brennan‘s run will come to an end this fall.
Interestingly, Brennan’s become an increasingly important character in recent weeks thanks to his position at the WSB, which has undergone a major shake-up in the wake of Cullum’s murder at the hands of Agent Josslyn Jax. Then there’s the fact that Jack has gotten involved with Nina, with both of them unaware that her supposedly-deceased cousin/fake pseudo-brother, Cassius, is not only alive but working for the WSB thanks to the organization’s mysterious front man, Z (played, of course, by John Oliver).

Soap vet McKenna was cast by General Hospital after Brennan’s original portrayer, Charles Mesure, opted to walk away from the soap. After debuting in February, Brennan quickly found his storyline heating up thanks to a romance with Laura Wright’s Carly… who then cheated on Jack with none other than Valentin!
Reports of Brennan’s exit come as the show is dealing with several backstage changes, including the unexpected (and very sudden) recasting of Nathan Dean’s Ethan… followed almost immediately by his replacement, Christian Howard, being written off. Elsewhere, Steve Burton returned as Jason, Kayden Brenna Tokarski was cast as a slightly-aged Scout. Troy Lennon Appel joined as Hudson Parker, with Dean Geyer coming on board as new doc Tristan Roberts. Then there’s the fact that Kirsten Storms’ ongoing personal issues resulted in not only Maxie being written off — for how long is unclear — but Bradford Anderson’s Spinelli going along for the ride!
