The Young and the Restless Monday, August 31 Recap: Phyllis Meets Marie, Patty's Prison Visit Surprise

At the Newman ranch, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will admit he knows about Victoria’s plans to bring back Vibrante.

Victoria will make a pitch about why it’s a good idea that’ll lead to them beating Jabot.

Victor will ultimately give his approval, but he’ll want Victoria to make it clear to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) that she’s the one going after the Abbotts’ company – not him.

Victor will also know that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) can play dirty, so he’ll think it’s best if Victoria keeps her distance from them.

Later, Victor will voice concerns to Nikki about Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) connection to Marie in rehab and worry that she could be a problem when it comes to his recovery.

At Nick’s rehab facility, Phyllis’ arrival will lead to his fierce outburst.

Since Phyllis won’t be on Nick’s list of approved visitors, Nick will rant about her breaking in and will assume this is about Matt Clark (Roger Howarth).

Nick will admit Victor and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) told him that Phyllis was desperate to find Matt.

If Matt is really gone, Nick will act like that’s good news, but Phyllis will worry that Adam and Victor have done something to him.

While Nick and Phyllis are bickering, Marie will interrupt to thank Nick for talking her off the ledge recently.

There’ll be some tension as Phyllis meets Marie, but she’ll eventually compare Marie to Matt once she’s alone with Nick again.

Phyllis will argue that Matt wants to clean up his life and have a fresh start like Marie, so she won’t see the difference here.

Nick will stand his ground about Matt being dangerous and will fear Phyllis is going to see his true colors.

Next, Matt will show up to see Patty behind bars.

As their visit kicks off, Patty will admit she knew Matt wouldn’t be able to stay away.

At Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) place, Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) will stop by with a gift to celebrate his first step toward being a surgeon again.

It’ll be a pair of shoes, so Nate will joke around with Stephanie about her present as they grow closer.

Nate will be a bit nervous ahead of his surgery tomorrow, so he’ll convince Stephanie to come distract him at the park café.

That’s where Stephanie and Nate will bump into Devon Winters (Bryton James), who’ll notice the growing connection between them.

At Crimson Lights, Audra will fume when she gets an email about Victoria restarting Vibrante and wanting to buy her patents.

Kyle will pop up and gloat about Victoria achieving what Audra couldn’t with the company.

Audra will wonder when Kyle became such a fan of Victoria or any Newman for that matter, but he’ll downplay his support.

Kyle and Audra will keep bickering until Victoria walks in.

That’ll give Audra a chance to suggest Victoria has been a “naughty girl,” but Kyle will quickly clarify that she’s talking about the Vibrante situation.

Audra will want Victoria’s enthusiasm for her patents to be reflected in the number she offers.

Victoria will insist it’ll be fair and that Audra’s going to cave in on this.

Audra will look forward to reporting on Vibrante at Spectra-Charles once it tanks and will saunter off.

Once they’re alone, Kyle and Victoria will ultimately struggle with some awkwardness as they flash back to stripping down at Jabot.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victoria and Kyle’s passionate encounters will continue, so stay tuned!
