Young and the Restless Comings and Goings: Villainess Returns
The Young and the Restless is bringing back several familiar faces during the week of August 24–28, and fans could be in for some intriguing developments.
A notorious villainess is set to resurface, while two recurring characters will receive more airtime as their connections to the residents of Genoa City become increasingly important.
The biggest surprise is undoubtedly the return of Patty Williams, played by Stacy Haiduk. The character has a long and complicated history on The Young and the Restless, and whenever Patty appears, trouble is rarely far behind.
According to the latest casting information, Haiduk will reprise the role on Friday, August 28. Patty’s return is particularly interesting because the character was previously locked away after stabbing Jack Abbott, played by Peter Bergman. Now, she is expected to reconnect with Matt Clark, portrayed by Roger Howarth.
That reunion could create an unpredictable situation. Patty has never been an ordinary character in Genoa City, and her history of deception, obsession and dangerous behavior makes her return especially significant. The fact that Matt is also involved adds another layer of mystery.
Viewers will undoubtedly be wondering whether the two are simply reconnecting or whether something much bigger is being planned behind the scenes.

Jade Harlow is back as Marie Kirkland on Wednesday, August 26. This time, Marie will share scenes with Joshua Morrow’s Nick Newman at the rehabilitation facility where both characters are receiving treatment.
Marie is a troubled character, and her interaction with Nick could provide an unexpected emotional dimension to his current storyline. Being in a rehabilitation environment could allow the two characters to discuss their personal struggles, regrets and attempts to move forward.
Harlow is also a familiar face to longtime soap fans. She is a three-time Daytime Emmy winner and has previously appeared as Jessica Bennett on Passions and Sheryl Connors on Days of Our Lives. Her return to Y&R gives viewers another opportunity to see the talented actress bring Marie back to life.
The week will also feature Vivica A. Fox in an expanded role as Dr. Stephanie Simmons. Fox has previously spoken about the emotional and nostalgic experience of bringing the character back to daytime television after decades away.
On Tuesday, August 25, Dr. Simmons will interact with Sean Dominic’s Nate Hastings. Nate is preparing to return to medicine, and his conversation with Stephanie could become an important step in that process.
Nate’s return to the medical world could open the door to an entirely new chapter for him. Having Dr. Simmons involved gives the storyline additional credibility and creates an opportunity for meaningful professional and personal conversations.
With Patty returning, Marie appearing alongside Nick and Dr. Simmons receiving more screen time, The Young and the Restless has packed the week with familiar faces and intriguing possibilities.
