Port Charles may be heading toward another major cast shake-up. After a string of exits and recasts throughout 2026, General Hospital fans are understandably nervous whenever a favorite character becomes involved in a dangerous storyline.
With secrets exploding, enemies closing in and several characters facing uncertain futures, six names could potentially be at risk of leaving the canvas for good.
It is important to note that not all of these departures are confirmed. Some are based on current story direction, while others are speculation about where the writers could take these characters next.
1. Jack Brennan
Jack Brennan is easily the biggest name on this list. Chris L. McKenna, who currently plays the WSB chief, is reportedly leaving General Hospital this fall.
According to Soap Opera Network, Brennan is expected to be killed off, although neither the actor nor ABC has publicly confirmed the report.
If the storyline follows through, Brennan’s departure could have enormous consequences for Carly, Nina and the WSB. His complicated history with Carly and his dangerous connections have made him one of Port Charles’ most unpredictable figures.
2. Michael Corinthos
Michael could also find himself at a major crossroads. His recent storyline has placed him under enormous pressure, particularly because of the damage surrounding Willow and their family. His decision to end things with Jacinda has already changed his personal life dramatically.
If Michael decides that Port Charles is simply too dangerous for his children, leaving town could become an attractive option. That would be a devastating blow to Sonny, Carly and the entire Corinthos family.
3. Willow Tait
Willow’s future could also become uncertain. Her recent troubles have pushed her into increasingly dangerous territory, and the consequences of her decisions could continue to grow.
A character leaving town after a major emotional collapse would certainly fit the soap-opera tradition. Willow could potentially disappear temporarily to rebuild her life, or a more dramatic twist could force her out of Port Charles altogether.
4. Josslyn Jacks
Josslyn has repeatedly put herself in danger because of her involvement with the WSB. Her secret-agent storyline has already created serious problems for Carly and Brennan, and the risks surrounding her work could eventually become too great.
If Josslyn is targeted by an enemy, she may have no choice but to leave Port Charles for her own protection. Such an exit could also create a powerful emotional storyline for Carly.
5. Ava Jerome
Ava is another character who can never be counted as completely safe. Her complicated relationships and dangerous alliances constantly place her in situations where one wrong decision could have devastating consequences.
With new threats emerging in Port Charles, Ava could eventually be forced to flee. Of course, given her history, an Ava exit would not necessarily mean she is gone forever. Soap operas are famous for bringing seemingly finished stories back to life.
6. Valentin Cassadine
Valentin remains another major question mark. His complicated history with the Cassadine family, Anna and Carly continues to make him a target whenever powerful enemies begin moving against him.
A dangerous confrontation could force Valentin into hiding or send him overseas. That would leave the door open for a dramatic return later.
